Chrome Delete – Chrome & Trim Wrapping in Hamburg
Black instead of chrome – a modern look for your vehicle, cleanly wrapped and fully reversible
Shiny chrome on window trims, grilles or roof rails quickly looks dated on many vehicles – or simply doesn't match the look you want. With a chrome delete, we cover the chrome parts of your vehicle with high-quality black film. The result: a sporty, elegant look like a factory night or shadow-line package.
Unlike painting, the original chrome stays protected under the film. The wrap can later be removed without residue – ideal for leased vehicles or if you want to sell your car in its original condition. We wrap chrome trims on cars, SUVs and vans in our workshop in Norderstedt near Hamburg.
Which chrome parts we wrap
Just the window trims or the complete chrome package – you decide which parts turn black:
Window & Trim Strips
The chrome strips around the side windows and on the doors are the classic chrome delete. We wrap them precisely and fold the edges cleanly.
Grille & Front Grille
Grille frames, slats and chrome bars get a black look – for a noticeably sportier front end.
Roof Rails
Black-wrapped roof rails visually connect the roof and window line and look particularly premium on SUVs and estates.
Emblems & Lettering
We wrap manufacturer logos, model badges and emblems in black – matching the other trim parts.
Door Handles & Mirror Caps
Chrome door handles and mirror caps complete the look for a consistent overall appearance.
Bumper & Side Trims
We also wrap chrome accents on bumpers, air intakes and side sills – for a consistent design.
Films & Finishes
For chrome trims we use high-quality cast films from Oracal, 3M and Avery Dennison. They stretch well, conform to tight radii and are UV- and weather-resistant. You can choose gloss black, matte black or satin black – matched to your vehicle's paint and wheels.
Night Package Look for Mercedes, BMW, Audi & Co.
Many manufacturers only offer black trim as an expensive option package – such as the Night Package from Mercedes-Benz, Shadow Line from BMW or Black Optic from Audi. With film you can get this look retrospectively, for example on the Mercedes A-Class (W177), C-Class (W205), E-Class (W213), GLC or CLA. We also wrap chrome trims on VW, Skoda, Volvo, Mini, Tesla and many other brands.
Reference: Chrome Delete on a Mercedes-AMG
On this red Mercedes-AMG we wrapped the window trims, B-pillars, grille and the air intake louvres in gloss black – for a noticeably sportier appearance.
Reference: Chrome Delete on a Mercedes-AMG GLC
Chrome window trims before, gloss black after: on this Mercedes-AMG GLC we wrapped the chrome trims around the side windows. The film is heated to wrap tight radii cleanly and trimmed precisely at the edges – creating the look of a factory night package.

Frequently Asked Questions about Chrome Delete
Paint or wrap chrome trims – which is better?
Wrapping is cheaper, faster and fully reversible. Painting requires the chrome parts to be sanded and primed – it is permanent and cannot be undone. For most customers, especially with leased vehicles, film is the better choice.
How long does the film on chrome trims last?
With high-quality cast films and professional application, the wrap lasts many years with normal care. We only use brand films from Oracal, 3M and Avery Dennison.
Can the wrap be removed again?
Yes. The film can be removed without residue, and the chrome underneath stays protected and undamaged. Your vehicle can be returned to its original condition at any time.
Does the wrap need to be registered?
Wrapping trim strips and add-on parts does not change the registered vehicle colour and usually does not need to be registered. We are happy to advise you on your specific vehicle.
Can I use a car wash with wrapped chrome trims?
Yes – after a curing time of about one week. When using a pressure washer, keep some distance from the film edges.
How long does a chrome delete take?
Usually one to two working days, depending on the scope. Window trims alone are often done in one day; with grille, roof rails and emblems it takes a little longer.
How much does a chrome delete cost?
It depends on the vehicle and scope, so the price is on request. Send us photos and vehicle details – we will get back to you quickly with a fixed quote.
